VOTE STUART SPEARS

Hi gang,

As you will be aware from Newcastle, my current priorities are follows,

ongoing line management of Sue;
Wales/Sierra Leone YJIA delegation debriefing day in Cardiff 16th/18th June (tbc) and follow up gyw actions arising;
YCI Advocates training day 3rd June at Ross Kemp House and subsequent flagship cutting-edge gyw projects;
ongoing line management of Jabez Croney, 2nd year George Williams College Youth Work student and his placement/dissertation project working in the St Paul’s community of Bristol with groups of African-Caribbean and Somalian young people in conflict (inc. gyw aspect);
6 months evaluation of the impact of January’s Challenge 21 in Action (Ch21iA) transformational leadership training in Thailand with/for the World Alliance and support via Facebook/email of ongoing gyw actions arising;
further development of the online gyw evaluation and planning toolkit;
ongoing Youth participation working party commitments including an online advisory group composed of Ch21iA young people from partner countries;
ongoing development of a funding proposal integrating gyw with YMCA England’s Offender Services Unit’s work with young people at three stages of engagement, or risk of engagement, with the criminal justice system through, and in support of our YJIA campaign;
Youth Workers Network advanced training with Hannah in Scotland, 26th June;
ongoing support and preparatory gyw sessions with residents and staff of Halton YMCA prior to a delegation to Mangalore YMCA in January 2009;
exploring with Kate, Darren, Matt and Hannah integrating gyw into a funding proposal ‘Responding to HIV & AIDS in India through community mobilisation, advocacy & empowerment of the most vulnerable & marginalised groups of young people’ (following on from my Masters research);
preparations for Prague ;
service/meetings on the DEA’s Advisory Council where I am active in promoting gyw and the inclusion of marginalised young people.
