lemonade

What’s on top at the mo includes:

Further developing the YMCAE OSU gyw proposal (integrating gyw with the YMCAE OSU’s work with young people at three stages of engagement, or risk of engagement, with the criminal justice system through, and in support of our YJIA campaign) to fit a potential funder’s objectives.

Following an exciting meeting with Darren, Hannah and Matt last week, with Hannah we’re taking the various actions to integrate global youth work into Darren’s DfID India HIV/AIDS network project proposal responding to HIV and AIDS in India through community mobilisation, advocacy & empowerment of the most vulnerable & marginalised groups of young people.

Green lights this week all the way for the Halton YMCA delegation to Mangalore next January. Had an ace Indian evening with the residents yesterday afternoon and last night. Curry frenzy.

Youth participation working party – I’ve got a German ladder, now need to find some hoodies for the 8th.

That reminds me I need to prepare for the Board meeting that day – Sierra Leonetastic.

I’m supporting the Woking and Newport seed funding projects which both have a strong India link which may or may not feed into the above. Ace.

Prague! Every spare minute from now to the end of July is taken up in preparing amongst other things, the welcome/peace board; Global stage backdrop; Global Game Show; videos/presentations for the LCD screens and late night films to disc with discussion cards for the so-called “Rolling Globe”, oh and the workshops… and the Fun Bus road trip which might get its own blog… so don’t ask me to do anything else betwixt now and well into September 2009.

So where on earth am I? Friday up at crack of crows fart to get to Cardiff and back home by midnight if I’m lucky. Seeing Ken Livingstone Monday because we’ve not seen each other sionce my regional role finished and I’d like to tap him up for some regional funds for the Halton mangalore gig, then och the noo for advanced gyw training in Edinburgh Thursday and of course the team meet on the 1st.

We laugh at stress and spit in the face of overwork.

(TOIL 27th re 26th and 30th re 20th and if it’s sunny will be in the garden topping up my natural Sierra Leone tan – whilst puffing on my fathers day double apple baccy and catching up reading the Sunday supplements about southern types and their nouvelle cuisine, tall skinny lattes and ‘product’)
