Just had 1.5 hr staff meeting, one thing that was decided was that we will set up a blog for IPD. Bridget suggested that they could use this blog, which i obviously quickly rebutted.

Last night i accompanied Chris to the Dominic Simpson Memorial Trust dinner. Dominic was a diplomat and middle east expert who passed away at a young age 4 years ago. His family and friends set up the trust to fund educational projects in the ME. Last year they started supporting the vocational training project in Jericho. The proceeds from each dinner are split three ways and they're continuing with the support this year. Judging by the attendance and the amount some of the auction prizes were going for, (£500 for a signed arsenal picture!!) I am sure we will do well. Not that i am sniffing at a lovely free meal in the surroundings of the foreign office, but i was glad to get home. I should have drunk more to cope with the level of conversation with the table of lawyers and bankers. Still, the drunk wives of said rich people did provide some amusement.

Looking forward to the weekend, hope all was well in Cardiff.
