Togo: "Don't know where and I don't know what for"

Togo it turns out is the main place one of my old school mates runs his shipping industry from...though he has never been there, but talks a lot to them in the harbour he told me...small world in'it.

A small prize for telling me which song my post title comes from??

It seems like I'm in Togo for ages, but having looked at the plan that Frank (and our own dear Harriet) has for it, its going to be very busy indeed!!!

22- 24 is a GOP meeting with all of Togos partners. So it won't be just us! There will be scandinavians and Germans!!

26 – 29 is a four day workshop planning and training the activities for the new EC project. We will be looking at all aspects of the new project and beginning to plan activities for implementing it, especially year one - so we will focus on the advocacy element, though Harriet also wants me to do some sessions on vocational training too. Shes also promised to draw in our 'gyw'ery cool energisers!

These two meetings are happening at a residential centre outside Lomé called CAFAP and from what Harriet says its basic, so doubt I'll be email contactable then (possibly not phone either, but hopefully)

Then heading back to Lomé, so email is getable in a local internet cafe and my phone will work too - so i'll be much more contactable. The 30 – 31 jan is a 2 day evaluation meeting of the campaign and also the work in prisons. 1st Feb is a visit to see the project in prisons. I'm then having a day off to take part by telephone in the annual planning meeting and budget meting with the Senior Management Team back in London (very 'globalisation in action').

Then on the 3 and 4th we are doing a day in each of the two towns (Lomé and Atkpamé) of campaign training with the young people who will form the campaign groups for the campaign.

This is all still to be finalised but that is what Frank has planned for us at the moment! I will be much more contactable than when I was in Honduras (as Honduras is one of the few countries in the world not to have entered into major roaming agreements) so you should be able to get in touch if and when you need to talk.

The prize goes to Mike!!! It is a oft forgotten classic. Incidentally, Naomi used to date the drummer of Athelete, they went to the same church youth group.
