From a wet and windy North Shileds

HI Everyone

First let me up date you on what is happening in my little broom-cupbaord of late.

Apart from being able to hear every single person who goes to the toilet next door and the amount of people talking on they mobiles while in there, yuck! And the fact that the gym is being refitted and new internet connections taking place which means I have men coming in and out of my office, settle yourself! and its some what nosiy -

I have been working on a North East Youth Justice in Action leaflet and Youth Workers Network Leaflet to send to the eight YMCAs in the North East. These are almost finished and will be sent out within the first two weeks of June. At the beginning of the year Stuart and myself set a few targets. Two of these are to have all eight YMCAs participating in YJIA Campaign and to have two members from each YMCA to join the YWN.

I have been attending some of the YMCAs presenting the Youth Justice in Action campaign and Youth Workers network. It seems that having something to offer the YMCAs instead of just phoning and trying to establish a connection has been a better way in. Althrough its still more reactive then proactive.
Darlington YMCA are busy working on YJIA art and music gallary. Sunderland YMCA have attended a workshop and are deciding what kind of project they may do if any. North Tynside YMCA are having a open evening to the wider YMCA and community and have asked for a stand regarding the Togo project that they are supporting and about the YJIA Campaign. Newcastle YMCA have also requested a stand about the work that we do at their closing celeabrations of the Steps Forward Project. This is half of the North East YMCAs participating or partnership work with CGYW.
The other YMCAs within the area for those who may not know are Consett, Barnard Castle, Northumberland, Herrington Brun.

For June so far this is where and what I'll be up to:

Morning Afternoon Evening
2nd June Supervision with Stuart North Tyneside Open Evening

3rd World Hunger Workshop

5th YJIA V-project

11th Training at The Centre ALL DAY London/travel back to North East

Of coruse I'll up date each week as and when things change but thought I would give a overall view for the month so far.

Secondly

Thank you all for being very understanding and gracious with me the last 6 months. Its not been easy and still is not at a personal level, however I thank God that he has blessed we with such wonderful and supportive people to walk along with me in what seems like dark times. But as it is written in the Bible, they may be weeping in the night but in the morning will come great joy. You are all a blessing and one that God has knowing that I have needed.
With this I am looking at going away for a couple of weeks on holiday for some relaxtaion and time out.

So if you have any ideas of where I could go be it the UK, Ireland or a place of sea, sand and sun for as little money as possible it would be great if you could share these with me and maybe everyone else, who knows we could even start our own holiday business.

Anyway your all have num bums by now sitting reading all this.
I am off after today 12pm but if you need me contact my mobile.

Sue, the thought of you having to listen to people's mid-wee mobile conversations has made me a giggle a lot. Good luck with that!
